            This reaction is to the video we watched on class after Jupiter’s presentation. This video was very compelling and supported her argument against the use of guns. I’ve always believed time in prison is better than the death penalty because the amount of reflection done by the criminal. However I did not expect for them to be that emotional and express so much hurt for what they’ve done. Watching the video made me in a way reconnect with my dreams and passions in ways I felt that I had been disconnected from. My goal is to be a lawyer and I’ve always been passionate about politics and issues of substance. However going through the motions of life and work has made me in many ways rethink this path. However watching this has shown me the amount of reform that needs to be done.
            The sad part about the justice system is your better off rich and guilty than poor and innocent. This I believed is another contributing factor to the amount of violence and need for power in the pursuit of economic gains. People are subject to stealing and violence as a result of the countries inability to secure the welfare of all its people. Gangs, drugs anything is done to cope, this will of course result in negative consequences which will either be death or imprisonment. However in a lot of cases peoples actions do not directly reflect their personalities, but their means and surroundings. I would like to help be the change and hopefully have the opportunity to hear some of these stories, this video was very eye opening.
